Backyard Aspirin Tea
· Bark from the leaf stems of a Coyote Willow (Salix exigua).
· Water
Begin by scraping off the bark from the trees branches (where the leaves are). Remember all you need is the bark, not the core of the branch. Take the bark and submerge it in water. Boil and drink as you would tea.
Side note: If you have an open wound, take the bark and saturate it with water. Place it on the wound and secure it with a bandage of some sort.
Habitat: Yavapai County-Granite Dells; Harvest: summer-fall
